Questions and Answers about Great Wolf Lodge
Q: I’m planning a visit to Great Wolf Lodge this fall. Do you have any tips to help save some money?
A: Our family saves money by packing a few snacks and drinks to bring with us to enjoy in our room. Each room at the Great Wolf Lodge is nicely furnished with a mini fridge and a microwave. With the money we save on snacks we use as “fun money” in the arcade and/or gift shop. However, I think you will be pleasantly surprised to find that most goods/services at the Great Wolf Lodge are reasonably priced, unlike other resorts you may have stayed at. A great surprise when traveling with children! Another thing you can do is sign up for the E-Pack newsletter. E-Pack Members receive discounts and exclusive offers delivered right to their email on a periodic basis. You can sign up on the Great Wolf website in the top right corner of the homepage. Enjoy your stay!
Q: What’s the best time of the year to visit?
A: My family and I have visited the Lodge in every season. So I can tell you that there’s something fun and new going on no matter when you decide to plan your stay. If you would like the option of enjoying the outdoor pool and amenities at the Lodge, summertime is the perfect time for a visit. That way you can work on your tan if you like and enjoy the great outdoors, but also duck inside for more water-related fun should the heat or weather become disagreeable. Our family’s favorite time of year to go is in winter. We love the way the Lodge is decorated around Christmas and how they have it “snow” indoors several times a day. None of us particularly like the cold, so its a great break away from the chilly weather and let’s us do all the fun stuff we love to do in summer. If you’re looking for a good deal on a room or for smaller crowds in the waterpark, try booking your stay on a weekday. We have often spent a Sunday night, staying over until Monday, and got a great rate as well as had the place almost to ourselves. But regardless of when you plan your stay, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Q: Do kids get bored easily?
A: To answer your question in a word- NO! If your kids love swimming and water rides, not to mention mini golf, interactive games (MagiQuest), gaming centers, a kid spa, arcades, and stations that inspire imagination and creativity (Cub Club & Race Zone), your kids will be anything but bored. On our first few trips our kids were absolutely enthralled with the waterpark the entire time. I mean, how cool is an indoor waterpark after all? Our kids couldn’t even imagine what it looked like and they couldn’t stop exploring once we got there. And if they do get tired of the water eventually, there’s still tons of stuff to do, all under one roof! Which is so nice when you’re accustomed to having to plan out separate activities at various locations and all the travel arrangements while on vacation. It’s one of the biggest reasons we love the Lodge so much. It’s a total crowd pleaser across the board!
Q: Are dogs allowed?
A:Only guide dogs are allowed. I always take our dog to a kennel near the Lodge so we can take her out for a while. It is like her own little doggie vacation, with plenty of other dogs to play with.
Q: Is this park indoors?
A: Yes, the Great Wolf Lodge waterpark is indoors for the most part. In the summer months there is an outdoor pool to enjoy and other outdoor activities, but the main water attractions are all indoors. Please check out the website at www.greatwolf.com and you you see all that the Lodge has to offer.
